                   1. Dictation (Rules and examples)

Dictation

is the transcription of spoken text: one person who is "dictating" speaks and another
who is "taking dictation" writes down the words as they are spoken. Among speakers
of several languages, dictation is used as a test of language skill, similar to spelling bees
          in the English-speaking world.

  2. Dictation (Help)

More help:

- open / close the brackets = otvori / zatvori zagradu

- blank / empty space for 2 words = praznina / praznina za dvije riječi

- dash = crtica

                 TYPES OF DASH:

                        hyphen =   -

en-dash=   –  (za brojeve, godine i sl. ili za značenje od-do (to) npr. Dover–Calais crossing)

em-dash=  —  (za dodataka rečenici tj dodavanje doadtnih informacija ili da označimo pauzu u rečenici)

  3. Dictogloss (rules and examples)

Dictogloss

is a classroom dictation activity where learners are required to reconstruct a short

text by listening and noting down key words, which are then used as a base for

        reconstruction.

          Example
Learners discuss the sea. The teacher then explains the task, and reads a short text on

the sea to the class, who just listen. The teacher reads the text again, and the learners

take notes. In groups, the learners then reconstruct the text.
